What CAC and FAC certification signal
CAC and FAC are the accreditations network operators use to check a contractor’s civil and fibre competency before adding them to an approved panel. CAC covers civil works: trenching, ducting, manholes, backfilling, and reinstatement to the standard the network operator sets. FAC covers the fibre-specific work: splicing, testing, and cutovers.
A contractor holding both means one team manages the civil foundation and the fibre-specific work, with no handoff risk between separate subcontractors.

- Who signs off civil acceptance on site, and how fast?
- What references can you provide from completed fibre rollouts?
- How do you handle fault detection and repair after handover?
- What is your BBBEE status, and does it meet our procurement requirements?
